A Home Repair Program for Older Adults in Islandview and Surrounding Neighborhoods
We are now accepting screening applications for this home repair program. Please review the eligibility requirements below and click here to submit a screening application.
About the Program
The Greater Villages Aging in Community Initiative (GVAIC) enables low-income homeowners ages 55+ to age with dignity, stability, and connection. Through targeted home safety and resiliency improvements, the program strengthens the ability of older adults to remain active, engaged participants in the Islandview and Greater Villages community. Eligible home repair and improvement includes emergency repairs as well as improvements for wheelchair accessibility, utility costs, and older adult safety.
All repairs are completed by licensed and insured contractors at no cost to the homeowner.

- We will review your screening application within two weeks. We will let you know if we need additional information or if there are any other home repair programs you may qualify for.

- Pictures of item(s) needing repair.
- Proof of income, including current pay stubs, social security benefit letter, and prior year tax returns for all members of the household.
- Photo ID of the person aged 55+.
- Recorded deed.
- Once we have verified your documentation, we will dispatch a licensed and insured contractor to your home to determine whether the requested work is feasible.
