About

Arrive Community Development is a Detroit-based nonprofit organization founded in January 2025. Our mission is to strengthen communities through affordable housing development.

We focus on neighborhoods that have great amenities and new investments. We develop affordable housing and build partnerships in these communities to fill gaps in services, helping to keep the community affordable for the residents who have called it home for decades.

In our first year, we obtained site control for a 48-unit affordable housing and neighborhood retail development in Detroit’s Islandview community. While this project is in predevelopment, we are addressing other community needs through the Greater Villages Aging in Community Initiative as well as partnerships for career readiness and access to fresh and healthy foods.

Our Community-Centered Approach

We believe that the more involved the community is in our projects, the stronger our projects will be. All of Arrive’s projects and programs are designed and implemented in partnership with community residents through Community Advisory Boards and direct voting from residents.

Our approach provides us with insight that can only come from the people who are most impacted by the project, ensuring that we address the most urgent concerns while reaching those with those greatest housing needs.
